Good evening, Riverside families. This is Principal Williams-Leathers with an important message.
Today some of our families received an inaccurate message that one of our students, and I quote, “almost certainly has contracted the coronavirus.” That message is not correct. We have spoken to the family of the student in question and have confirmed that the student has not been diagnosed with COVID-19. We are monitoring this situation closely, and Durham Public Schools is working closely with our county health department. If a student at our school is diagnosed, rest assured that you will hear about it from official channels. But let me repeat: the message sent earlier today was inaccurate, and as of today, no Riverside student has, to our knowledge, been diagnosed with COVID-19. Please continue to wash your hands, practice safe social distancing, and stay well.
