4/6 Weekly Message

Good evening Riverside families, this is Principal Tonya Williams with your weekly message.  I hope you all are safe and healthy.

Our Remote Online Learning website is complete.  Please visit our Riverside High School website at riverside.dpsnc.net, under the News section, click on Riverside Online Learning Plans.  Once there, parents and students can search by the department for each teacher's remote learning plan.  Just like our families have different needs, so do our teachers.  Because of that, we could not allocate one hour for instruction per subject per day, but each teacher will provide students with new learning, feedback, and office hours.

If your child does not have access to the internet or a device, then please be reminded that we will have print packets for most subjects in the front of the school tomorrow from 11:00-1:00 and 4:00-6:00 p.m.  This is a no-contact pickup.  At this time, we are asking students to take pictures of completed work and send them to their teacher’s email address.

It is extremely important that students contact their teachers if they are missing any work from the 3rd quarter.  Grades for the 3rd quarter will be based on all work completed prior to March 13.  We are contacting students, as well, but some numbers are incorrect in our Powerschool, so please pass this message along to your friends.  If you need access to Powerschool, then please contact our Data Manager, Amy Bass at amy_bass@dpsnc.net.

Some students are having difficulty with their DPS email addresses. In order to maintain communication with their teachers using your DPS email, please visit bit.ly/emailrhs and students should follow the directions to properly configure their DPS email. Directions are in English & Spanish.

Are you looking for FREE resources to keep your students & family reading during this time? Please go to bit.ly/riversidereads for multiple options!

Do you have Riverside library books that need to be returned? You can drop them off tomorrow during packet distribution.

I certainly thank you all for your patience and understanding!!  Our community has been absolutely wonderful!!!!  I hope everyone has a great week!!!  Roll Pirates Roll!
